Xarelto 20 Mg is an oral anticoagulant which helps prevent formation of harmful blood clots. It prevents the formation of blood clots in the legs, lungs, brain and heart. For the best result, take it at the same time every day. It can increase the risk of bleeding, so be careful while shaving, cutting nails, using sharp objects or enganging in contact sports (e.g. football, wresling). Let your doctor know if you see blood in your vomits, urine or stool (black or tarry). Unlike other anticoagulant, regular blood test (PT-INR) is not required while taking this medicine.

How to Take

Take Xarelto 20 Mg in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Xarelto 20 Mg is to be taken with food.

Warning

Xarelto 20 Mg may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.

Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.

Xarelto 20 Mg is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.

Do not drive unless you are feeling well.

Xarelto 20 Mg may cause dizziness or fainting. This may affect your driving ability.

Xarelto 20 Mg should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment   Xarelto 20 Mg may be needed. Please consult your doctor. Use of Xarelto 20 Mg is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease.

Xarelto 20 Mg is probably unsafe to use in patients with liver disease and should be avoided. Please consult your doctor.

Uses

Xarelto 20 Mg is used to reduce the risk of blood clots and stroke in patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation.

Xarelto 20 Mg is used to treat blood clot formation in the blood vessels of the legs and other extremities.

Xarelto 20 Mg is used to treat blood clot formation in the blood vessels of the lungs.

Xarelto 20 Mg is used to reduce the risk of recurrent blood clot formation in the blood vessels of the legs and other extremities in patients who are at risk of recurrent deep vein thrombosis following at least 6 months of standard anticoagulant treatment.

Xarelto 20 Mg is used to reduce the risk of recurrent blood clot formation in the blood vessels of the lungs in patients who are at risk of a recurrent pulmonary embolism following at least 6 months of standard anticoagulant treatment.

Xarelto 20 Mg is used to prevent blood clot formation in patients who have undergone hip or knee replacement surgery.
