Syncapone 50 Mg Tablet is a combination medicine used to treat the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. These symptoms may include muscle stiffness, tremors, muscle spasms, poor muscle control, slowness of movement, etc. It may also be used to replace therapy with other medicines (carbidopa and levodopa combinations) if the patient is experiencing wearing-off symptoms. This medicine is not recommended for use in patients less than 18 years of age.

Syncapone 50 Mg Tablet contains Carbidopa, Entacapone and Levodopa as active ingredients.

Syncapone 50 Mg Tablet works by increasing the dopamine in the brain for proper brain functioning; allowing more levodopa to enter the brain; inhibiting catechol-O-methyltransferase activity.

How To Take

Take Syncapone 50 Mg Tablet in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Syncapone 50 Mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Avoid Syncapone 50 Mg Tablet with high protein meals such as cottage cheese, Swiss cheese, protein powder, eggs and milk.

Your doctor may advise you to discontinue breastfeeding or to discontinue the drug based on your clinical condition.

Syncapone 50 Mg should be used with caution due to the increased risk of side effects such as dizziness, fainting, drowsiness, etc. This may cause you to fall asleep during your day-to-day activities. Hence, it is advised that you do not perform any activities that require high mental alertness such as driving a vehicle or operating machinery while taking this medicine.

Syncapone 50 Mg should be used with extreme caution in patients suffering from hypotension (low blood pressure) or patients receiving antihypertensive medications (high blood pressure medicines) due to the increased risk of a very low blood pressure. Regular monitoring of blood pressure levels is recommended for such patients. Report any symptoms such as lightheadedness, fainting, dizziness, etc. to the doctor immediately. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be necessary based on the clinical condition of the patient.
