Selgin 5 Mg active ingredient in this medicine is selegiline hydrochloride which belongs to a group of medicines called monoamine oxidase B inhibitors.Selgin 5 Mghydrochloride is used to treat Parkinson’s disease and can be used on its own or in combination with other medicines.

Selgin 5 Mg Tablet is used to control the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease, a disorder of the nervous system that causes difficulties with movement, muscle control, and balance.

It does not cure the disorder but may improve the symptoms of shakiness, muscle stiffness, and loss of movement that occurs when the effects of other medicines decrease with time. It is used in combination with other drugs like levodopa to improve the range of mobility and the ability to walk, dress, and do exercises.

How To Take

Take Selgin 5 Mg in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Selgin 5 Mg Tablet is to be taken with food.

Warning

Caution should be exercised in patients with history of peptic ulcer, uncontrolled high blood pressure, stroke, diabetes, abnormal heart rhythm, chest pain, psychosis, severe liver or kidney dysfunction, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

It may cause dizziness, lightheadedness, and fainting when you get up too quickly from a lying position. So get out of bed slowly.

Do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking this medication.

Monitor body temperature regularly.

Reduce levodopa dosage after initiation.

Avoid alcoholic beverages.
