Nexpro 20 Mg Tablet is a prescription medicine that is used for the short-term treatment and maintenance of inflammation of the food pipe.Nexpro 20 Mg medicine works by decreasing the amount of acid in the stomach. Nexpro 20 Mg medicine helps by relieving the symptoms of hyperacidity.

Nexpro 20 Mg Tablet is also used for the short-term treatment of backflow of stomach acid into esophagus, to reduce the occurrence of stomach ulcers related to the repeated use of NSAID’s in patients, for the long-term treatment of overproduction of acid in the stomach, to reduce the risk of rebleeding in patients with stomach or intestinal ulcers who are undergoing endoscopy procedure, and to treat the patients with H. pylori bacterial infection and intestinal ulcers.

Nexpro 20 Mg Tablet may also be used along with other medicines in the treatment of certain conditions as recommended by the doctor. It is used with Amoxicillin, or Clarithromycin to treat the patients with H. pylori bacterial infection and intestinal ulcers.

How To Take

Diarrhea – Nexpro 20 Mg medicine has been associated with an increased incidence of Clostridium difficile associated diarrhea in some patients. Consult your doctor if you experience diarrhea that does not improve over time.

Liver disease – Report any incidence of liver disease to the doctor. Nexpro 20 Mg medicine is not recommended for use if the impairment is severe. For mild to moderate impairment, this medicine can be given with suitable dose adjustment and safety monitoring.

Immune system disorder – Use of Nexpro 20 Mg medicine for durations longer than medically recommended can cause skin disorders by affecting the immune system. Report any incidence of skin lesion formation to the doctor while using this medicine.

Bone fracture – Use of high dose of Nexpro 20 Mg Tablet for prolonged duration may increase the risk of bone fractures especially in older patients and women. Supplements like Calcium citrate and Vitamin D should be taken after consulting the doctor.

Vitamin B12 deficiency – Long-term treatment with Nexpro 20 Mg Tablet may decrease the absorption of Vitamin B-12 in the body. Supplements can be taken after consulting the doctor.

Uses

Nexpro 20 Mg (Esomeprazole Magnesium) can be used as a treatment for a variety of conditions related to excess stomach acid production, as well as other related conditions. It is commonly used to treat GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease), a condition which causes damage to the oesophagus due to stomach acid flowing backwards from the stomach.

Nexpro 20 Mg drug can help the oesophagus to heal. Other conditions treated include Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and stomach ulcers. In some cases, patients taking certain  medicine may be prescribed this drug to help prevent ulcers.
