Virovir 250 Mg Tablet falls under a category of drugs known as antiviral. Virovir 250 Mg is used in the treatment of shingles and recurrent herpes skin infections in people with a history of HIV infection.Virovir 250 Mg is also used to treat cold sores and genital herpes.

On using Virovir 250 Mg Tablet you may experience certain possible side effects such as vomiting, nausea, weakness, headache, diarrhoea and gas. Certain severe reactions may occur such as hives, trouble breathing and swallowing, chest pain, hallucinations, abnormal bleeding, swelling of body parts and disorientation. If you face any major allergic reaction seek medical help as soon as possible.

How To Take

Take Virovir 250 Mg in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Virovir 250 Mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Pregnancy:-Virovir 250 Mg Tablet is probably safe to use during pregnancy.

Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effect on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. Please consult your doctor.

Lactation:-Virovir 250 Mg Tablet is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.

Driving:-Virovir 250 Mg Tablet may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.

Kidney:-Virovir 250 Mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Virovir 250 Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

Liver:-Virovir 250 Mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe liver disease. Dose adjustment of Virovir 250 Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

Limited information is available on the use of Virovir 250 Tablet in these patients. No dose adjustment is recommended in patients with mild to moderate liver disease.

Uses

Virovir 250 Mg is used in the treatment of herpes zoster infection (shingles). The infection is characterized by a painful rash with blisters and burning. It occurs in patients who have had chicken pox in the past.

Virovir 250 Mg is used for the treatment and prevention of recurrent episodes of genital herpes, which are sores that form around the genitals and rectum from time to time in people with a normal immune system.

Virovir 250 Mg is used to treat repeat outbreaks of herpes cold sores and fever blisters that occur in people with a normal immune system.
