Valcivir 1000 Mg Tablet falls under a category of drugs known as antiviral. Valcivir 1000 Mg  medicine is used to treat infections such as genital herpes, cold sores in children at least 12 years of age and shingles in adults. It also treats chickenpox in children who are 2 years of age.

On using Valcivir 1000 Mg you may experience side effects such as headache, stomach pain, dizziness, drowsiness, hallucinations, mental and mood disorders such as agitation, seizures, skin rash, difficulty with speech, kidney disorders and nausea. Seek medical help on experiencing any reaction. Discontinue usage if you have fever, weakness, skin paleness, bloody diarrhoea, swelling of body parts and abnormal bleeding.

How To Take

Take Valcivir 1000 Mg in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Valcivir 1000 Mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

The tablet should be swallowed with a sufficient amount of fluid (e.g. one glass of water)

Pregnancy:- Valcivir 1000 Mg is not recommended for use in pregnant women unless necessary. All the risks and benefits should be discussed with the doctor before taking Valcivir 1000 Mg  medicine.

Breast-feeding:- Valcivir 1000 Mg is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless necessary. All the risks and benefits should be discussed with the doctor before taking Valcivir 1000 Mg  medicine.

Blood clots and kidney failure:- Valcivir 1000 Mg should be used with extreme caution due to the increased risk of serious adverse effects such as blood clots and kidney failure. This risk is especially higher in patients suffering from HIV infection, patients with a history of kidney diseases, as well as in the elderly patients. Close monitoring of clinical condition, appropriate dose adjustments, or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required in some cases based on the clinical condition of the patient.

Driving or Operating Machinery:- Valcivir 1000 Mg may cause symptoms such as blurred vision, dizziness, drowsiness, etc. in some patients. It is advised that you do not perform any activities that require high mental alertness such as driving a vehicle or operating machinery if you experience any of these symptoms during treatment with Valcivir 1000 Mg  medicine.

Uses

Valcivir 1000 Mg is used for the treatment of cold sores (herpes simplex labialis), a condition characterized by small, painful ulcers around the border of the lips.

Valcivir 1000 Mg is used to treat genital herpes which is a sexually transmitted viral infection caused by herpes simplex virus. It may be used for the treatment of an initial episode of genital herpes as well as to prevent outbreaks of the infection.

Valcivir 1000 Mg is used in the treatment of herpes zoster infection (shingles). The infection is characterized by a painful rash with blisters and burning. It occurs in patients who have had chickenpox in the past. It may also be used to prevent shingles in patients who are susceptible to it, e.g., HIV-infected patients who have had close contact with a person having an active shingles infection.

Valcivir 1000 Mg is used for the treatment of chickenpox, which is an infection caused by the Varicella Zoster virus. It may also be used to prevent chickenpox in patients who are susceptible to it, e.g., HIV-infected patients who have had close contact with a person having an active chickenpox infection.
