Melalong Cream

Melalong Cream is a topical corticosteroid. It is used to treat the dryness, itching, inflammation, redness, crusting, scaling and discomfort of various skin conditions like eczema, dermatitis, allergies and rash.

The common side effects of this drug can include skin problems such as drying, cracking, burning, itching and lightening of skin colour, acne, severe skin rash, difficulty breathing or swallowing, wheezing or signs of skin infections like swelling, redness or oozing pus.

How To Take

Always apply this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you. Gently wash your face with a mild cleanser. Don’t use a wash cloth to apply the cleanser, just use your fingers

Rinse and pat your skin dry.Apply at night, at least 30 minutes before bedtime.Put a small amount (pea sized or 1/2 inch or less) of MelalongCream on your fingertip

Apply a thin coat onto the discolored spot(s). Include about 1/2 inch of normal skin surrounding the affected area.Rub the medicine lightly and uniformly into your skin. The medicine should become invisible almost at once

If you can still see it, you are using too much. Keep the medicine away from the corners of your nose, your mouth, eyes and open wounds. Spread it away from those areas when applying it

Do not cover the treated area with anything after applying

If your skin gets too irritated, stop using Melalong Cream, and let your doctor know

Side Effects

Mild to moderate redness, peeling, burning, dryness or itching

Infection of the hair follicles, acne, change in skin color

Inflammation around the mouth, skin infection

Skin thinning, stretch marks, and sweat problem

Warning

Do not use hydroquinone topical on skin that is sunburned, windburned, dry, chapped, or irritated, or on an open wound.

It could make these conditions worse. Wait until these conditions have healed before applying hydroquinone topical.

Before using hydroquinone topical, tell your doctor if you are allergic to any drugs, or if you have: liver disease; or kidney disease. If you have any of these conditions, you may need a dose adjustment or special tests to safely use this medication. This medication may be harmful to an unborn baby.

Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant during treatment. It is not known whether hydroquinone topical passes into breast milk or if it could harm a nursing baby. Do not use this medication without telling your doctor if you are breast-feeding a baby.

Uses

MelalongCream is used to treat a skin condition called melasma. Melasma consists of dark (hyperpigmented) spots on facial skin, especially on the cheeks and forehead. This condition usually happens with hormone changes.
