Cytogard 20 Mg Tablet is used for the treatment, prevention, control and or improvement of the following diseases such as severe pain in chest, ringing in the ears, inner ear problem and other conditions.

It works by producing a good supply of oxygen for the cells of the heart. Cytogard 20 Mg Tablet is usually prescribed as a long-term treatment of angina pectoris. Cytogard 20 Mg Tablet slows beta-oxidation of fatty acids by blocking long-chain 3-ketoacyl-CoA thiolase, which increases glucose oxidation. In an ischaemic cell, energy obtained during glucose oxidation requires less oxygen consumption than in the beta-oxidation process.

How To Take

Take Cytogard 20 Mg in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Cytogard 20 Mg Tablet is to be taken with food.

Cytogard 20 Mg medicine may cause drowsiness. It is advised that you do not perform any activities that require high mental alertness such as driving a vehicle or operating heavy machinery during treatment with this medicine.

Trimetazidine may cause hypotension. This risk is especially higher in patients undergoing treatment with high blood pressure medicines. Close monitoring of blood pressure and appropriate dose adjustments may be required based on the clinical condition.

Caution is advised while using this medicine in elderly patients above the age of 75 years due to the increased risk of severe adverse effects. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required based on the clinical condition.

Use of Cytogard 20 Mg medicine as a first line agent for unstable angina or heart attack is not recommended. This medicine is also not indicated for use as a curative treatment for angina.
