Zentel 400 Mg tablet comprises of Albendazole which is important for treating diseases due to an infestation of parasitic worms. It is an anti-parasitic medicine which treats infections caused by tapeworms like hydatid disease and neurocysticercosis which adversely affects the brain and muscles. Diseases such as pinworm disease, giardiasis, hydatid disease (intestinal infection), neurocysticercosis (affecting brain and muscles), ascariasis (gastrointestinal infection), and filariasis (affecting the lymph nodes).

Zentel 400 Mg tablet falls under a category of medicines called anthelmintic which eradicates parasites and worms by stunning them and destroying them with minimal harm caused to the body. Cytoplasmic microtubules and tegmental cells are degenerated by the sulfoxide compound of the medicine. This causes the energy present in the parasite to get depleted along with destruction of metabolic processes which eventually kills the parasites.

How ToTake

Take Zentel 400 Mg tablet in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Zentel Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Pregnancy:-Zentel 400 Mg tablet is not recommended for use in pregnant women unless absolutely necessary. All the risks and benefits should be discussed with the doctor before taking this medicine.

Breast-feeding:- Zentel 400 Mg tablet not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless absolutely necessary. All the risks and benefits should be discussed with the doctor before taking this medicine.

Bone Marrow Suppression:-Zentel 400 Mg Tablet may alter the functionality of bone marrow resulting in a decreased count of white blood cells. Therapy should be discontinued if any such abnormalities are observed.

Liver Diseases:-Zentel 400 Mg tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver diseases since it may increase the levels of the liver enzymes. Close monitoring of liver enzyme levels is recommended for such patients. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required based on the clinical condition.

Effects on Brain:-Zentel 400 Mg Tablet may cause neurological effects such as dizziness, fits, etc. when the medicine is used to treat Neurocysticercosis. It is advised that you do not perform any activities that require high mental alertness such as driving a vehicle or operating machinery during treatment with this medicine. Your doctor may prescribe other medicines along with Zentel 400 Mg Tablet to minimize its neurological effects, based on your clinical condition.

Retinal Damage:-Zentel 400 Mg tablet should be used with caution in patients with a history of eye diseases such as retinal lesions due to the increased risk of retinal damage. It is advised that you inform the doctor about all your medical conditions before beginning treatment with this medicine.

Zentel 400 Mg Tablet is used in the treatment of pork tapeworm infection.

Zentel 400 Mg Tablet is used in the treatment of pinworm infection.

Zentel 400 Mg Tablet may be used in the treatment of threadworm infection.

Zentel 400 Mg Tablet may be used in the treatment of roundworm infection.

Zentel 400 Mg Tablet may be used in the treatment of whipworm infection.

Zentel 400 Mg Tablet may be used in the treatment of hookworm infection of the skin.
