Vermact 6 Mg Tablet falls under the group of drugs called anthelmintic. It is used to cure cases of strongyloidiasis; which are roundworm infections. It also effectively treats head lice, scabies and river blindness. Vermact 6 Mg Tablet works in the body by killing the developing worms and not the adult ones.

The common side effects that you maybe subject to experience on using Vermact6Mg Tablet are vomiting, nausea, reduced appetite, bloating, abdominal pain, tiredness, constipation, drowsiness, lightheadedness, headache chest pain, shakiness. If you are receiving treatment for onchocerciasis (river blindness) then you may have certain reactions for the first four days such as swollen eyes and swollen lymph, eye redness or itchiness, fever. However, if these allergic reactions continue, promptly notify your physician.

How ToTake

Take Vermact 6 Mg Tablet in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Dissolve it in a glass of water before taking it. Vermact6Tablet is to be taken empty stomach.

Warning

Pregnancy:-Vermact 6 Mg Tablet is not recommended for pregnant women unless necessary. The risk and benefits should be discussed with the doctor before receiving this medicine.

Breast-feeding:- Vermact 6 Mg Tablet is known to excreted in breastmilk. It is not recommended in breastfeeding women unless necessary. Avoid direct contact of this medicine with the baby.

Mazzotti reaction:-Patients being treated with Vermact 6 Mg Tablet for onchocerciasis may experience mazzotti reaction which are cutaneous and systemic adverse effect. These patients should be monitored closely. Supportive care should be initiated based on the severity.

Pretreatment assessment for Loa loa infection:-Patients with significant exposure to endemic areas and being treated with Vermact 6 Mg Tablet for onchocerciasis may have an increase in the risk of fatal encephalopathy. The symptoms include neck pain, red eye, urinary and fecal incontinence, mental status changes, seizures, or coma. Therefore, pretreatment assessment for loiasis is necessary.

Pediatric use:-Vermact 6 Mg Tablet is not recommended for children with body weight less than 15 kg.

Uses

Vermact 6 Mg Tablet is used in the treatment of onchocerciasis which is a parasitic worm infection caused by Onchocerca volvulus transmitted through the bite of black flies characterized by skin itching and vision impairment.

Vermact 6 Mg Tablet is used in the treatment of strongyloidiasis which is an intestinal infection caused by a roundworm called Strongyloidesstercoralis characterized by abdominal pain and diarrhea.

Vermact 6 Mg Tablet is used in the treatment of scabies which is a skin infection caused by the mite called Sarcoptesscabiei characterized by itching and red rashes on the skin.
