Karvol Plus
Karvol Plus Capsule is a decongestant suitable for use by adults, as well as children aged 3 months and above. Karvol Plus capsules contains Camphor, Chlorothymol, Eucalyptol, Terpinol, and Menthol. Karvol Plus improves the patient’s ability to breathe while sleeping, allowing the patient to sleep deeper and with less disturbances when suffering from a nasal congestion and colds.
Karvol Plus Capsule is used for Common cold, Blockage in nasal passages, Cough, Airway mucus hypersecretion, Cold sores, Asthma, Back pain, Pain in shoulder joint, Respiratory tract diseases, Pain and other conditions. Karvol Plus Capsule may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

How To Take
If you are taking the over-the-counter product, read and follow all directions on the package label. If your doctor has prescribed Karvol Plus medicine for you, take as directed by your doctor. If you have any questions, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
Take this Karvol Plus medicine by mouth with or without food or as directed by your doctor. If stomach upset occurs, it may help to take this medication with food or milk. Drink plenty of fluids when you use this medication unless otherwise directed by your doctor. The fluid will help loosen the mucus in your lungs.
If you are using the liquid form of thisKarvol Plus medicine, carefully measure the dose using a special measuring device/spoon. Do not use a household spoon because you may not get the correct dose. If your liquid form is a suspension, shake the bottle well before each dose.

Side Effects
The following is a list of possible side-effects that may occur from all constituting ingredients of Karvol Plus Capsule. This is not a comprehensive list. These side-effects are possible, but do not always occur. Some of the side-effects may be rare but serious. Consult your doctor if you observe any of the following side-effects, especially if they do not go away.
Drowsiness
Nasal irritation
Dryness in the nasal cavity
Sore throat
Burning
Vomiting
Coma
Abdominal pain
Nausea
Ataxia

Warning
Before patients start using Karvol Plus it is important that they have a talk with their doctor and inform them about the existing ailments, allergies, medicine and supplements that they take. Patients must not forget to mention their pregnancies or any upcoming surgery that may be scheduled. The doctor will then suggest this drug or another substitute drug to suit their health condition. The doctor will also set the dosage, frequency, and the duration of the treatment which is to be strictly followed. If patients experience any discomfort or side effect they should immediately seek medical help. They should also remember the following points:
Avoid consumption of alcohol as it will impair their vision and cause dizziness.
They can take this drug while breastfeeding only if a doctor prescribes it.
Consult a gynaecologist if they are planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding.
Use chemical safety goggles during use.
Uses
Karvol Plus combination medicine is used to temporarily treat symptoms caused by the common cold, flu, allergies, or other breathing illnesses (such as sinusitis, bronchitis). Decongestants help relieve stuffy nose, sinus, and ear congestion symptoms. Acetaminophen (APAP) is a non-aspirin pain reliever and fever reducer. Antihistamines help relieve watery eyes, itchy eyes/nose/throat, runny nose, and sneezing.
Cough-and-cold products have not been shown to be safe or effective in children younger than 6 years. Therefore, do not use this product to treat cold symptoms in children younger than 6 years unless specifically directed by the doctor. Some products (such as long-acting tablets/capsules) are not recommended for use in children younger than 12 years. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for more details about using your product safely.
These products do not cure or shorten the length of the common cold and may cause serious side effects. To decrease the risk for serious side effects, carefully follow all dosage directions. Do not use this product to make a child sleepy. Do not give other cough-and-cold medicine that might contain the same or similar ingredients (see also Drug Interactions section). Ask the doctor or pharmacist about other ways to relieve cough and cold symptoms (such as drinking enough fluids, using a humidifier or saline nose drops/spray).
