Clindac A 1% Gel
Clindac A 1% Gel is an antibiotic used to treat a numerous bacterial infections like pneumonia, strep throat, pelvic inflammatory disease, middle ear infections, bone or join infections, endocarditis among others. It is administered orally, or intravenously or as foam, gel, lotion or cream applied to the skin.
Clindac A 1% Gel belongs to a lincosamide class of antibiotics and works by blocking bacteria from synthesising protein. This drug should be used to treat bacterial infections only and not against viruses, such as for common cold or flu.

How To Take
This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Clean and dry the affected area and apply the gel. Wash your hands after applying, unless hands are the affected area.

Breast-feeding = Clindac A 1% Gel is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless necessary. All the risks and benefits should be discussed with the doctor before using this medicine. If the medicine is used, care should be taken such that the infant does not come into contact with the medicine. Also, the infant should be monitored closely for any undesired side effects.
Clostridium difficile-associated Diarrhea = Antibiotic therapy will cause an imbalance in the normal microbial flora of the large intestine, which may promote the growth of a bacteria called Clostridium difficile and you may experience severe diarrhea as a result. Report any such incidence to the doctor on priority and avoid usage of this medicine in such cases.
Atopic Dermatitis = Clindac A 1% Gel should be used with caution in patients suffering from atopic dermatitis due to the increased risk of worsening of the patient’s condition. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be necessary based on the clinical condition of the patient.
Concomitant use with other anti-acne agents = Clindac A 1% Gel should be used with extreme caution when it is used along with other medicines for the treatment of acne. Combined use may increase the risk of severe adverse reactions such as skin peeling, irritation, dryness, etc. Appropriate dose adjustments or replacement with a suitable alternative may be necessary based on the clinical condition of the patient.
