Asthafen 1 Mg Ketotifen, the primary constituent of Asthafen 1 Mg, is available in the oral as well as ophthalmic dosage forms. The oral forms of this medicine are used for the treatment of allergic rhinitis; they may also be used for the prevention of asthma attacks. The ophthalmic forms of Asthafen 1 Mg medicine are used for the treatment of allergic conjunctivitis. The oral form of Asthafen 1 Mg medicine is not recommended for use in patients less than 6 months of age. The ophthalmic form of Asthafen 1 Mg medicine is not recommended for use in patients less than 3 years of age.

How to Take

Take Asthafen 1 Mg medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Asthafen 1 Mg is to be taken with food.

Use of Asthafen 1 Mg may cause symptoms such as blurred vision, dizziness, etc. in some patients. It is advised that you do not perform any activities such as driving a vehicle or operating machinery if you experience any of these symptoms during treatment with Asthafen 1 Mg medicine.

Asthafen 1 Mg should be used with caution in patients with a history of seizure disorders due to the increased risk of recurrent seizures. Report any unusual symptoms to the doctor immediately. Close monitoring of the patient’s condition, appropriate dose adjustments, or replacement with a suitable alternative may be required based on the clinical condition.

Asthafen 1 Mg is not recommended for use in patients less than 3 years of age since the safety and efficacy of use are not clinically established. Uses

The ophthalmic form of Asthafen 1 Mg is used to treat allergic conjunctivitis, a condition characterized by symptoms such as eye redness, itching, watery eyes, etc.

Asthafen 1 Mg is used along with other medicines for the prevention of asthma attacks. It is not helpful in the treatment of an acute asthma attack.

Asthafen 1 Mg is used to relieve symptoms such as sneezing; runny, stuffy, or itchy nose; watery eyes; eye itching; etc. associated with allergic rhinitis.
