Alphadopa 250 Mg falls under a category of drugs known as alpha-2 receptor agonist. It may be used on its own or in combination with other medications to treat blood pressure. It functions by widening the blood vessel allowing blood to flow more easily.

On using Alphadopa 250 Mg you may experience side effects such as headache, drowsiness, dizziness, fatigue, fever, numbness, slow heartbeat, enlargement of breasts, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, increase or decrease in libidinal drive and drying of the mouth. How To Take

Take Alphadopa 250 Mg in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Alphadopa 250 Mg may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Avoid Alphadopa 250 Mg with high protein meals such as cottage cheese, Swiss cheese, protein powder, eggs and milk.

Caution should be exercised in patients with history of anemia, liver, kidney disease, tumor in adrenal glands, any allergy, who are taking other medications, elderly, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Avoid alcohol consumption.  It should not be used in children.

Uses

Alphadopa 250 Mg is an antihypertensive which is used to reduce the blood pressure by acting on the central nervous system. Iron-containing products may reduce the absorption of this medicine. Close monitoring of blood pressure and liver function is necessary.
