Velpanat Tablet
Velpanat Tablet is used in combination with other medications such as ribavirin, daclatasvir and peginterferon to treat chronic hepatitis C. It functions by reducing the hepatitis C virus in the body. This helps to keep liver disorders such as cirrhosis and liver cancer at bay.
On using Velpanat Tablet you may experience side effects such as diarrhoea, itchiness, headache, nausea, drowsiness, rapid breathing, rapid heartbeat and skin paleness. If your reactions persist, seek the help of your health care provider right away.
Before using this medication you should tell your doctor if: you are allergic to any ingredient contained within Velpanat Tablet, you have any other allergies, you are taking any prescription or non-prescription drugs, you have liver/kidney disorders, you are below 18 years of age, you are pregnant or are planning to become pregnant or are nursing a baby.

How ToTake
Take Velpanat Tablet in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Velpanat Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

Alcohol:-Interaction with alcohol is unknown. Please consult your doctor.
Pregnancy:-Velpanat Tablet is probably safe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effect on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation:-Velpanat Tablet is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
Driving:-Do not drive unless you are feeling well.
Velpanat Tablet, when taken together with other medicines for the treatment of hepatitis c infection, may produce dizziness, blurred vision and this may affect your ability to drive.
Kidney:-Velpanat Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Velpanat Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Limited information is available on the use of Velpanat Tablet in these patients. No dose adjustment is recommended in patients with mild to moderate kidney disease.
Liver:-Velpanat Tablet is safe to use in patients with liver disease. No dose adjustment of Velpanat Tablet is recommended.
However, inform your doctor if you have any kidney disease as regular monitoring of liver function tests may be advised in some patients while taking this medicine.
