Gestone 50 Mg Injection is a progesterone (female hormone). It works on the lining of the uterus and helps to establish and maintain pregnancy in infertile women. It helps in protecting the uterus from the negative effects of oestrogen when used for the treatment of postmenopausal symptoms.

Gestone 50 Mg Injection is a medication that is used in hormone replacement therapy. This means that it is orally administered into women’s bodies when they do not produce enough progesterone. It reduces menopause symptoms and the risk of cancer of the uterus. It corrects menstrual disorders in women and can also be used as contraception. Gestone 50 MgInjection, belonging to a group of medications called Progestins, works by inducing some changes in endometrium and decreasing the level of estrogen in the uterus.

Pregnancy: Gestone 50 Mg Injection is safe to use during pregnancy.Adequate and well-controlled human studies have shown low or no risk.

Lactation: Gestone 50 Mg Injection is safe to use during lactation. Human studies have shown that either the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in significant amount or is not expected to cause toxicity to the baby.

Driving: Gestone 50 Mg Injection may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.

Kidney: There is limited information available on the use of Gestone 50 Mg Injection in patients with kidney disease. Please consult your doctor.

Liver: There is limited information available on the use of Gestone 50 MgInjection in patients with liver disease. Please consult your doctor.Use of Gestone 50 MgInjection is however not recommended in patients with severe liver disease.

Uses

Gestone 50 Mg is used along with estrogen in women who have achieved menopause, but haven’t undergone a surgery to remove the uterus (hysterectomy).

Gestone 50 Mg is used to treat absence of menstruation in women of childbearing potential due to a lack of progesterone in their body.

Gestone 50 Mg is also used to treat abnormal bleeding from the vagina due to changes in hormone levels but are not caused by a pregnancy or miscarriage.

Gestone 50 Mg is used to prevent this condition where the female sex hormones are imbalanced and heavy bleeding or intermittent bleeding between periods are experienced.

Gestone 50 Mg is used to treat a condition where progesterone level in the body is low and as a result the risk of miscarriage is very high.

Gestone 50 Mg is also used for the treatment of symptoms experienced due to periodic changes in sex hormone levels as a part of the menstrual cycle.

Gestone 50 Mg may also be used as a vaginally inserted dosage form to achieve contraception.
