Entehep 0.5 Mg

Entehep 0.5 Mg Tablet is an antiviral drug which is used in the treatment of chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection in patients with severe liver abnormalities. Entehep 0.5 Mgreduces the amount of virus in the patient’s body, but it does not cure the disease. Entehep 0.5 Mg medicine also may not prevent the complications of hepatitis B like liver cirrhosis. Entehep 0.5 Mg also does not prevent the spread of HBV to other people.

How To Take

Take Entehep 0.5 Mg medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Entehep 0.5 Mg is to be taken empty stomach.

Pregnancy: Entehep 0.5 Mg medicine is not recommended for use in pregnant women unless strictly indicated. The benefits and risks should be discussed with the doctor before using this medicine.

Breast-feeding: Entehep 0.5 Mgmedicine is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless absolutely necessary. Your doctor may advise you to discontinue breastfeeding or to discontinue the medicine based on your clinical condition.

Exacerbation of Hepatitis B: Discontinuation of Entehep 0.5 MgTablet or any other anti-Hepatitis B therapy may cause severe acute exacerbation of the HBV infection. Monitoring of liver function is recommended for at least a few months after stopping the treatment with this medicine. Further initiation of anti-Hepatitis B therapy may be warranted in a few cases.

HIV co-infection: Entehep 0.5 MgTablet is not recommended for use in patients who are infected with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and not on highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) therapy for HIV due to the risk of development of resistance to HIV NRTIs.

Lactic Acidosis: Entehep 0.5 Mgmedicine is not recommended for use in patients with severe liver dysfunction due to the risk of lactic acidosis (increased acid in the blood). Frequent clinical monitoring for lactic acidosis is recommended while taking Entehep 0.5 Mgmedicine. Any symptoms like difficulty in breathing, irregular heartbeats, dark-coloured urine, and yellow colored skin and eyes should be reported to the doctor on priority.

Uses

Entehep 0.5 Mg Tablet is used in the treatment of chronic hepatitis B infection, if no nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs) like lamivudine were previously used or if resistance is developed to the existing NRTI therapy.
