In children, Valclovir 500 Mg's used to treat cold sores (in kids over 12) and chicken pox (in children over age 2).Valtrex is not a cure for herpes, but it can help reduce your symptoms by slowing the growth and spread of the virus.The drug can decrease herpes pain and itching, help sores heal, and prevent new sores from forming.

How To Take
Take Valclovir 500 Mg in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Valclovir 500 Mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
The tablet should be swallowed with a sufficient amount of fluid (e.g. one glass of water)

Alcohol:-It is generally safe to consume alcohol with Valclovir 500 mg Tablet.
Pregnancy:-Valclovir 500 Mg Tablet is probably safe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effect on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation:-Valclovir 500 Mg Tablet is safe to use during lactation. Human studies have shown that either the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in significant amount or is not expected to cause toxicity to the baby.
Driving:-Valclovir 500 Mg Tablet may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Kidney:-Valclovir 500 Mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Valclovir 500 Mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Drink plenty of water while you are taking this medicine to lower the side effects on the kidney.
Liver:-Valclovir 500 Mg Tablet is safe to use in patients with liver disease. No dose adjustment of Valclovir 500 MgTablet is recommended.
