Paroxit 12.50 SR Tablet is an antidepressant in a group of drugs called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). Paroxetine affects chemicals in the brain that may be unbalanced in people with depression, anxiety, or other disorders.

Paroxit 12.50 SR Tablet is used to treat depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD).

The Brisdelle brand of paroxetine is used to treat hot flashes related to menopause. Brisdelle is not for treating any other conditions.

How To Take

Paroxit 12.50 SR Tablet is an antidepressant medicine. It is used in the treatment of depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, phobia and post-traumatic stress disorder. This medicine should be taken strictly as advised by the doctor. Do not stop taking this medicine abruptly.

Warning

Caution should be exercised in patients with history of increased eye pressure, seizures, stomach bleeding, liver, kidney or heart disease, any allergy, who are taking other medications, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

It may cause dizziness or drowsiness, do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking this medication.

Avoid alcohol consumption.

Patient may develop with increased risk of Neuroleptic malignant syndrome (NMS) and Serotonin Syndrome with the following symptoms: fever, rigid muscles, blood pressure changes, mental changes, restlessness, diarrhea, fast heartbeat, incoordination, nausea, vomiting. If it is so consult with your doctor.
