Nizral Solution containing the active ingredient ketoconazole is an azole antifungal type of medication. The medication works by disrupting the fungal cell membranes to kill fungi and yeast that are causing an infection. It is mainly used to control dandruff and relieve flaking, scaling and itching of the scalp caused by dandruff. Some patients may also use it to treat pityriasis versicolor.
